* What a day
Yesterday was fantastic because for once I was completely free to do whatever I felt like doing. I’m going to write about my yesterday in order to keep myself reminded of what my life should be, always.
I woke up feeling fresh with a smile on my face at 8:45am to the sound of no alarms. I fell asleep from the incredible exhaustion of being super productive the day before, and slept until my body and mind wanted to wake up.
I walked outside to breath in the morning breeze, and it beat what a venti coffee could have done for me.
On the subway ride, my mind was filled with new ideas and plans. I wrote them down in my planner, because writing things down help me recognize patterns and draw connections among them in order to come up with solutions to my current problems. Writing things down also makes me commit to them. Within those 30 minutes on the subway, I got more work done than I would normally while sitting in an office distracted by insignificant tasks.
When I passed a homeless person on my way out, I took out some money to give her. It wasn’t a lot, but it was at least something. I promised myself to stop for a little longer next time, at least to find out her name, and why she’s out on the street.
I went to get a haircut. It turned out to be pretty bad, but hey, I felt great, so it didn’t bother me.
By the time I got back home, it was lunch time. I ate some leftover while watching this (continuation of my daily challenge to learn something new everyday). After lunch-n-learn, I turned off my bb (first time!) and went straight to napping. There is nothing I enjoy better than taking nap in day time since I’m nocturnal by choice.
Five hours later (okay that’s a bit much), I got up from my satisfying nap. I went on my computer to read and reply to emails, catch up with my social networks, and download reading materials for my class the next day.
Then it was dinner time. I made simple unagi temaki, with beef & shiitake broth, and enjoyed it with my roommate over a light hearted conversation. She just returned from her month-long vacation.
After dinner, I wanted to go see a movie with a friend. We spontaneously ended up at cafe mirage for a delightful piece of supercrema gianduja and double macchiato’s. Three hours later, we left the place feeling warmed and cozy by the conversation that we shared.
I got back to my computer around 10:30pm. I got excellent new job offers! WHAT!!!!!!!!! I wasn’t even looking. I was super duper psyched. I spent some time replying to them expressing my wish to learn about the offers in persons. One thing led to another, I ended up writing to three close friends, drafted up a contract for a freelance project and contacted an old client to lock down another. Quite productive. I’m happy.
I am now doing my reading for the class I will have in 4 hours. I have no complaints! I got so much rest yesterday that I’m not even sleepy.
On another note, keep checking the “marketing” and “media studies” sections of my blog, I have a lengthy list of articles I will be writing.
Until then, peaceeeee!
