I feel extremely fortunate to be living in a time when communication technologies are reaching great heights. I am sitting here with my blackberry witnessing future in the making on Twitter as I am blogging this down using WordPress. Thanks to social media and mobile technology, so many new connections are being established every second. These new connections spark new ideas, form new relationships, lead to new discoveries, create new markets, and everything else is an absolute possibility.

In my opinion, it was more to Barack Obama’s hopeful message of change that won him the US presidency. It was his decision to utilise and integrate social media well into his campaigns. There’s one sure thing, if this man is wise enough to influence using social tools, he will be wise enough to lead.

With such incredible power to influence, social media is yet to be taken seriously by most structured organisations, namely education and politics.  If you are in the business of influencing people, please look at what social media marketers are doing to capture attention of the mass, and apply it to your organisation.  If you don’t know where or how to start, talk to me :)
