* art + advertising
Jan.28, 2009 // arts + design, marketing + advertising, personal
I am a visual artist, who communicates through digital photography, graphic design, and brief text. Now tell me if that’s not advertising in its real essence. I was trying to fight it for awhile, but I know better now. I have messages to express, and the average people get advertising; it doesn’t take a genius to put that one and one together. I promise myself that I will not force but allow art to express herself through me with whichever media I’m best at, and right now, it’s photography, graphic design and text. If you have seen my work (I promise I will put them up here, instead of having them scattered all over the place), you will know what I mean.

it actually takes more than an idea + visually stimulating designs to make a good ad….purpose of an ad is not merely to communicate, it is to influence.

thank you JC for your comment.
here’s a question: how can an ad influence if it doesn’t communicate well? ;)

This is a great post and makes me think of where I can fit in. I do a little bit of everything mentioned here and I guess I have to find my competitive advantage.
